A retraction is a public statement, by the author of an earlier statement, that withdraws, cancels, refutes, diametrically reverses the original statement or ceases and desists from publishing the original statement. Retractions may or may not be accompanied by the author's further explanation as to how the original statement came to be made and/or what subsequent events, discoveries, or experiences led to the subsequent retraction. They are also in some cases accompanied by apologies for previous error and/or expressions of gratitude to persons who disclosed the error to the author. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retraction)
lyrics
this is a retraction
some things are better unsaid
did it get a reaction?
was the message sent?
it must have been someone
show me them fiery eyes
show me to the action
teach me to improvise
it's all been said and you couldn't defend it
you threw what you had in the fires again
and pretend to bury it all
make a call and start making some plans
for these dirty hands
is there anyone out there
past the borderlines?
would you know where to find me
if i gave you a time?
it was good at the outset
i thought you could fill me up
now we're stuck in the mindset
nothing is good enough
and you're way too tired to meet my demands
got your feet on the floor but they don't want to dance
and you said you had enough of my plans
so start wiping the stains and the sands
from my dirty hands
